My podiatrist assured me the foot bone was fully healed so Jim and I scooted out to the Whitney area to climb Carillon and Thor for Oct 4-5. My foot did ok. Snow was a bit of a problem descending Thor, but the storm Friday night lacked the intensity the rangers called for and the new snow made it very pretty.

Kearsarge Peak with Lisa replaced Black Hawk as a destination on Oct 11, but this time the forecast storm was worse than expected. I have a trip report which I hope to publish in Scree.

My foot is doing well. It is now 6 weeks since I broke it. I am walking in regular shoes, but it is not yet fully healed and hurts when I move in certain ways. Hopefully the Black Hawk trip will be doable.
