Dec 31-Jan 3
Come enjoy the Yosemite high country in a different season. A tricky class-4 climb in summer, Mt Clark will be a real alpine challenge in winter. The long western approach up the Illilouette drainage should also make for a pleasant ski tour.
Hike from Valley up Muir Trail, don skis and head up Illilouette drainage to camp
Climb SE Arete (Class 3-4, rope, axe, crampons)
Possible climb of Starr-King on the way out, conditions permitting

Greet the New Year with a fun conditioning hike to the summit of Junipero Serra Peak. It's a 10 mile round trip, 3900 feet gain to the summit. This peak is the 2nd highest in the Santa Lucia range. On the summit, we'll find exotic ponderosa pine, white fir, and other plants normally associated with the Sierra. We'll start at the trailhead at 10AM, summit by 2PM and be back at the cars by 5PM. This is a class 1 day hike open to all.
